Vice President (Fall 2013)

The Tejas Club is a unique social organization with 40-50 members centered around exemplary scholarship, leadership, and friendship. It is one of the oldest organizations on campus and membership is invitation based. As Vice President, I planned and hosted a lectureship series with distinguished professors and Austinites for weekly crowds of 100+ people. My guests included UT baseball coach Augie Garrido, politician Carole Keeton, and historian H.W. Brands. I also directed the six-month rolling recruitment process for new members.

Plan II Students' Association
President, Vice President, Freshman Coordinator, Historian
-Plan II Students' Association is the board that plans all academic and social events for the 650 students in the Plan II Honors Program at the University of Texas. I was elected by my peers to chair a board of 18 officers that represent all Plan II students. I planned weekly officer meetings, bimonthly volunteer opportunities, and weekly community events. As Vice President and then President, I secured organizational funding that increased assets by 1000%.

-Student Government is the official voice of students at the University of Texas. In my three years of involvement, I held leadership positions within the Executive branch. As SURE Walk Director, I coordinated groups of nightly volunteers to walk students to and from campus. I managed our network of 300+ volunteers from 9 campus organizations. Student Government is the official voice of students at the University of Texas. In my three years of involvement, I held leadership positions within the Executive branch. As SURE Walk Director, I coordinated groups of nightly volunteers to walk students to and from campus. I managed our network of 300+ volunteers from 9 campus organizations. I relocated the program to the main library, which caused nightly usage numbers to double. As Health and Wellness Policy Director, I managed four agencies (Campus Safety, Longhorn EMS, Longhorn Run, and SURE Walk), their directors, and members. I co-founded a safe ride system called Safe Ride that had over 5000 registered riders. Safe Ride provides free rides home to students from downtowns on Thursday - Saturday nights. I sat on several University committees, including the GigU Search Committee. I served as one of two student voices in the appeal to Google to bring Google Fiber to campus neighborhoods.
